OUR CHEFS

Aurora Coffey

Aurora Coffey

Den Mother & Fearless Leader

Aurora has always been in love with food and cooking. The daughter of a chef, she was predestined to be in a kitchen long before she realized her passion could be her livelihood. Another Augie's Alumni, she spent her early career working the counter at Augies Cafe before lending herself to other projects of his. She spent her time in Chicago working for big names such as Rick Bayless and getting her Culinary Arts degree from Robert Morris. She returned to Springfield to spend time with her family and got her Restaurant Management degree all while working alongside Jordan. The two of them got married in 2010 and opened American Harvest in 2011. They have worked together as parents to many and are lucky to be mom and dad to Walter and Desmond.

Luminary is their 3rd love child and after years of conceptualizing they're excited to bring their years of experience to a new space built on a long love of the restaurant industry.

You can find Aurora on the line, eating a cold burger bun, exercising her mom title, reheating her cup of coffee for the 30th time, tasting wine she can't pronounce, giving inspirational speeches at the weekly staff meeting, or writing notes to herself on the back of old kitchen tickets.
Jordan Coffey

Jordan Coffey

Chef & Owner

Jordan was born and raised in Springfield Il. Always toting an artistic vision, whether it be with colored pencils, a song in the middle of the dinner rush, or with a chefs knife and tweezers. He filled in as a dishwasher at Augies Front Burner at the age of 17 and hasn’t left a kitchen since. He quickly worked his way through the ranks of August Mrozowski’s kitchen, becoming the Chef at Augies Cafe and Augies Front Burner before the age of 20. It was at the Cafe he met Aurora and they moved to Chicago to gain perspective on the big city culinary scene. After working at some of Chicago’s Best restaurants he returned to Springfield to open American Harvest where he garnered high acclaim for his creativity, championing of the local food movement, and beautiful seasonal plates. He is a proud father of 2 boys, a great leader and mentor in the kitchen, and can often be found on the line singing loudly with another line cooks towel and tongs in his hand.
